How to Kick Your Stress Out

Friday, September 13, 2013
Sometimes when stress makes you down, focus on the most beautiful thing you've ever done for someone you love can actually lower the tension. Apparently, the thought of loving things that trigger the nervous system to relax the body and mind.

That was written by Fred Luskin, Ph.D., and Kenneth Pelletier, PhD, MD, in his recent book 'Stress Free for Good' (HarperSanFransisco). Three steps to make the mind calm them:

1. Breathing deeply

Imagine your stomach is a balloon that is being slowly filled the air, but the leak also.

2. Remember the good things

Think about the sweet demeanor of a person, such as wedding anniversary gift from my dear husband or friends offer to accompany the child.

3. Focus on the core behind all of it

Find out what makes a person's attitude is so meaningful. Does it make you feel really mean and be loved? Does it make your day ten times more excited? Feel better?
